Our History

Viewpointcafe’s parent company Vantage Fuels operates a network of thirty-one service station locations.

Vantage Fuels was established in Bendigo in 1985 under Tierney Petroleum, a wholesale Shell Fuels distributor.
Tierney Petroleum, a family owned business, began in September 1985 with the purchase of a Shell Distributorship that encompassed Central Victoria. The Distributorship comprised of depots in Bendigo, Kyneton and Serpentine; and one service station. The business expanded over the years with the purchase of Murray Valley Petroleum, the distribution business for Kerang and Swan Hill.
Under the Shell Distributor model, Tierney Petroleum was able to build a network of Shell branded petrol stations throughout central Victoria. Over time the distribution side of the business was sold back to Shell.
In 2003, Tierney Petroleum ceased its wholesale business and changed the fuel banner of its petrol station network to BP. A decision to rebrand in 2008 saw the company of Tierney Petroleum evolve into the currently recognisable visage of Vantage Fuels. Vantage Fuels has continued to grow and currently has a network encompassing 31 Service Stations that are spread throughout Victoria and New South Wales.
